Earn 3 credits for your prior knowledge and professional experience around any approved topic in education. Please note: you must meet with an education advisor to have your preferred topic approved. Please get your topic approved before you register for this course.
The full special topics course addresses:

In-depth examination of a critical topic related to the field of education.

Educational topics related to and beyond traditional Pk-12 settings
To document your expertise, you will:

Develop a detailed description of the area of education you are discussing

Description should be 750-1000 words

Use specific, professional language

Reference professional/academic sources to affirm that your knowledge is aligned with current standards/understanding

Provide an example of you putting your expertise into action. This application component can take many forms. Discuss your idea with an education advisor for guidance and approval.
You will have one month to complete your response. You can have open access to standard resources as you work. You may not use AI generators to draft or complete your responses.
The EDC399 challenge exam can be repeated once for credit when the submission is on a separate approved topic.
Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be awarded 3 credits and billed $100 per credit payable through Navigator.
