Full course description

Earn 3 credits for your prior knowledge and professional experience in the field of education. Please note: you must meet with an education advisor to have your preferred topic approved. Please get your topic approved before you register for this course.

This challenge exam explores contemporary issues in education and asks studets to reflect on their own experience as learners. The goal is to encourage students to think deeply about the purpose of education through multiple lenses -- historical, philosophical, sociological, political, and personal. By examining core beliefs about what is most important for educators to teach the next generation, students gain greater clarity about the path they will pursue within the broader field of education. For this challenge exam you will write reflective essays consisting of 3-4 well developed paragraphs each, responding to 7 topic areas that reflect core elements of the course. 

You will have one month to complete your response. You can have open access to standard resources as you work. You may not use AI generators to draft or complete your responses.
 
Note: This challenge exam is valid for only one credit. It can be repeated once for one additional credit if new theorists are selected.
 
Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be awarded 1 credit and billed $100 per credit payable through Navigator.
